Aim of course

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the formal foundations of Description Logic based knowledge representation languages and of their reasoning methods, emphasizing the application of techniques developed in knowledge representation to the problem of managing complex data.

Subject of course

Modeling information through ontologies. Description Logics. Query answering over databases and knowledge bases, and ontology-based data access. Reasoning in Description Logics.

This is a course of Vienna PhD School of Informatics which is also open for Dr.techn students. This is the visiting course of Computational Intelligence.
