After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

• Analysis and planning of corporate IT.
• REA-based Accounting Information Systems and Enterprise Information Systems
• REA economic analysis of Enterprise Information Systems.
• Appropriate weighting and handling of relevant systems and standards.
• Independent deepening of knowledge.
• Formulation of IT-strategic positions and solutions to problems, their exchange with computer scientists and business planners.
• Self-organization and personal responsibility for the company-wide coordinated solution of IT management issues

• Alignment between the strategic and operational goals of an organization and its information systems.
• Accounting & Compliance Perspective on Information Systems.
• Procurement, production and sales processes: REA activity diagrams and posting.
• Evaluation and controlling of IT applications and systems.
• IT metrics and key figure system.

During the lectures new theory will be presented, while we will also reflect on what has been learned so-far.

This is complemented with regular exercises to enable students to apply the concepts they have learned during the lectures in a more practical setting.

The course consists of a series of lectures, two exercise sheets (with submission) and one test. The exercises are to be done in groups of 3.
