Aim of course

The aim of the lecture is to have a basic understanding of future technologies, but also organizational mechanics of money, banking and payment.

Subject of course

Challenged by emergent disruptors money, banking and payment are in a rapid transition. Looking at the history and presence of money and payment, the lecture gives an introduction into the technological enablers and the future of banking, payment, and money. Giving informed insights into economics, technical and legal crunchpoints of current and future technologies, but also organizational mechanics of money, banking and payment, a basic understanding of the domain is taught. This is needed in order to be able to make informed decisions and to deepen the understanding of monetary systems in general.
