Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Analyze a given problem statement
  • Plan the project phases
  • Select and adapt appropriate approaches to solve a problem
  • Apply adequate tools and technologies for the implementation
  • Document the results of a software project

Subject of course

The actual project topics will be discussed with the supervisor. The topic is either offered by the supervisor or defined by supervisor and student in a discussion.

The project can be done as individual project or as a group project. There is the possibility to link this project with the "Project in Computer Science 1".

Teaching methods

In general, students are working on their project topic in an independent way under guidance by a supervisor. The guidance by the supervisor can be done, e.g., in regular meetings or by e-mail.

The grading is based on the quality and originality of the technical contribution as well as the documentation. Furthermore, the grading takes into account  the quality and quantity of the preparatory work and the commitment of the student.
