Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and know multimedia concepts, platforms, environments and standards. Students also learn technical and software-technical basics of multimedia.

Subject of course

  • Time-dependent and independent media types (text, audio, images, video) and details about media types
  • Psychoacoustics
  • Digitization of signals
  • Data compression (JPEG, MPEG-1 & MP3, MPEG-2, H.264, H.265)
  • Current multimedia installations

The lecture will be in German with English slides.

Frontal lecture with many examples and interactive examples.

The course slides will be available for download in the TUWEL course. The lecture will be given live in Zoom and recorded. The recordings will also be made available.

 The first lecture is on 1.3.2023 from 11-12:30 in Zoom and from then on every Wednesday from 11-12:30 in the same Zoom room
