Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the taught advanced topics of model engineering and web modeling. Furthermore, they are able to apply their gained knowledge to analyze existing web-based modeling environments.

Subject of course

In the seminar, students will elaborate a scientific paper for a well-defined topic comprising around 10 pages. Thereby, the students will choose a topic from a catalog of pre-defined topics in the area of advanced model engineering together with the course advisors. Subsequently, they will conduct a literature search and elaborate their seminar papers. In a closing workshop, the students will present and discuss their results with the other students participating in the seminar.

Teaching methods

In a blocked kick-off workshop, students will be introduced to web modeling concepts and technologies. The available seminar topics will be presented and students can form groups to collaboratively work on a topic.

Intermediate milestone reports and discussions will be schedule throughout the semester.

Eventually, the course will close with a joint workshop where all groups present their work.
