After successful completion of the course, students are able to handle a diversity of multimedia content in practice and apply this knowledge during the self-dependent development of an application for Android devices.
Content of the course is mediaprogramming and handling of multimedia (video, audio, graphics, animations,...) in practice through development of a 2D arcade game for mobile devices using the Android SDK.
The work is performed in small groups (2 students). The groups develop a task description on their own that is later implemented (at least in the emulator). At the beginning of the course there are several lectures (tutorials) where the basics of mobile programming are explained. After that, handling of the Android framework will be learned self-dependently. During the term the students will be supported and supervised via the TUWEL forums.
After registration in TISS the corresponding TUWEL course can be accessed from 04.03.2021. After this, the introductory lecture will also be accessible in TUWEL. It contains all the details for the further registration process and grading.
All the other lectures will also be accessible in TUWEL after the announced dates (approx. weekly).
The work is performed in small groups (2 students). The final grading results from the description of the game, an intermediate hand-in and a final hand-in. Active participation in the TUWEL forums can also have a positive influence on the final grade.
