After successful completion of the course, students are able to create an application with a multi-sensory user interface. They have experience with the selected sensors, actuators or displays and are able to design and implement hardware and software for interaction with the application.
Design and Implementation of selected aspects of multi modal user interfaces. Some topics will be: Tangible Interfaces, Tracking and Motion Capturing, 3D Interaction, User Interfaces, Perceptional illusions in VR, hardware accelerated methods, ...
If necessary, a tutorial will be held at the beginning of the semester to introduce the basics of electronic circuitry. Alternatively or additionally documents can be made available, which introduce the specialized knowledge necessary for the own application. In the first phase a short written concept of the application is to be provided, which is discussed then with the course leaders. In the second phase, the hardware and software of the application is designed and implemented. Suitable laboratory equipment is available for the implementation. In appointments with the course leaders, appropriate feedback can be obtained. In the final phase, the application or prototype will be evaluated or demonstrated and a short demo video will be produced.

The focus of the evaluation (approx. 90%) is the assessment of the final hardware or software prototype at the time of presentation/delivery.The quality and completeness of the video and documentation contribute less to the evaluation (approx. 10%).
The student has to be enrolled for at least one of the studies listed below
Programming skills Basics in Physical Computing or readiness to get into it.
