The Video Production course focuses on video fundamentals for short productions.

After completion, students will have gained the skills necessary to create engaging, single-camera video productions that can be applied to various types of projects, whether for video support for a master’s thesis or a short documentary.

Teaching methods

This lecture with lab practice (VU) does not have a dedicated laboratory for student use. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you have a computer to work with and the needed software for editing video, for example:

  • DaVinci Resolve
  • HitFilm Express
  • Apple iMovie
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Apple Final Cut Pro
  • Sony Vegas
  • Blender
  • Your favorite NLE (non-linear editor)

There will be video equipment available for you to borrow. Detailed information can be found in TUWEL.

Examination modalities

Your evaluation is based on a point system totaling 55 points (subject to change):

Three projects: 35 points
Two Quizzes: 20 points

All projects will be created in groups of three, and quizzes will be done individually. All project information will be covered in the lecture and on TUWEL.

To receive points for a project, it is the group’s responsibility to upload the projects on time, and according to the project requirements. All project assignments have upload deadlines. Do not wait until the last minute to upload your project. No excuses.
