  • Credits: 1.5
  • Type: UE Exercise

Aim of course

The goal of the course is to provide hands-on experience with selected algorithms in the field of video analysis.

Subject of course

The exercise consists of three separate tasks: (i) extracting a specific foreground object from a given video, (ii) retiming another video that can be used as background, and (iii) pasting the extracted foreground object on the background video. A MATLAB framework will be provided, in which each task has to be finalized by the students. The covered topics include interactive video-object segmentation (per cost-volume filtering), retiming and finally the merging of the two videos to a new one. The course concludes with a final exercise interview at the end of the semester in order to check if the students have implemented the tasks. The supervision of the exercise will take place over the Web via TUWEL.
