Aim of course

  • knowing of the functionalities of a professional digital audio workstation (DAW)

  • acoustics: sound converters, room acoustics, miking

  • coding a software synthsizer, beatgenerator and sampler

  • VST instruments & effects

  • fundamentals of mastering

  • creative use of the tools

Subject of course

  • We will use the different functionalities of the DAW Cubase: Recording, Cutting, Fades, Routing, VST-instruments, effects and Midi implementation.

  • Loudspeakers and Mikrophones, recording und acoustic irradiation

  • introduction to effects in sound design and mastering

  • using a software synthesizer, a beat generator and a sampler

  • teamwork: producing a song
