Aim of course

* Understanding the fundamentals of Music

* Listening as process

* History of music technology - Electronic musical instruments etc.

* Working with multi-channel audio software, a music compiler and real-time music processing software

* Basic sound synthesis techniques (Additive, subtractive, AM, FM , waveshaping synthesis)

* realisation of a small creative project

 

Subject of course

*  Music history, musical styles & genres, tonal systems & fundamentals of harmony, beat & rhythm.
*  Classification of sound by associative listening
*  Introduction in Audacity, pure data und Csound
*  Recording: environment, field recording, near recording
*  Creating a sound collage using your own creative ideas

1. Field recordings of five characteristic samples. (6 sec.)
2. Inclusion of a sound environment.
3. Create a sound collage with the recorded sounds.
