The lecture will give an introduction into human perception and the design of usable visualisations. This lecture is based on the lecture Psychological Foundations of Visualization and is focused on the evaluation of visualisations. Practical aspects of evaluation processes will be discussed and exercises will be conducted. Students will search for literature and present this literature in written and oral form.

Students will conduct a literature research and find one article concerning the evaluation of information visualisations. They will then present this paper in the lecture. The goal is to enable students to read and to sum up scientific papers in a coherent manner. They should also learn to present papers. In teams of 2 students they will have to do a Thinking Aloud Study and write down their conclusions and experiences. (More detailed information available in TUWEL)
