Aim of course

This course examines the making, use and consequences of technology (including ICTs) in the modern world in order to foster the understanding of the social embeddedness of technology. This examination will be framed and informed by perspectives from the history, psychology and sociology of technology.

Subject of course

Social context of technology development and use; technology and social change; consequences of (new) technologies for work, organizations, and everyday life; the interaction of technology with institutional and cultural contexts.
