Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to reflect about topics of cognitive and educational psychology. They are also able to apply knowledge from cognitive psychology and educational psychology with the purpose of developing e-learning systems. They are able to explain their design decisions on the basis of theoretical knowledge from these areas. They are able to assess the quality of e-learning systems of others on the basis of cognitive and educational psychology.

Subject of course

The lecture "Networked Learning" is supposed to provide an introduction into the topic how learning can be supported by the usage of computers. An overview of different educational theories is provided. Then, investigations on e-learning are presented, and the term hypertext is discussed. An important aspect is the critical discussion of advantages and disadvantages of such forms of learning. In this context, practical examples are presented.

Presentation of various theories from cognitive psychology and education, critical discussion of these ideas

The lecture will be held online. There are no weekly appointments, but there will be a Zoom-Meeting on Tuesday, November 24st at 10 a.m. There will be a short description of the lecture, and then questions can be asked.
