After successful completion of the course, students are able to present a scientific talk about a chosen research topic and to write a scientific publication on the topic. Essential is the ability to identify their own contribution.
Different topics in computer vision and Pattern Recognition will be studied in detail. With an appropriate number of participants the final presentations are organized in form of a mini-conference where the students are introduced in the organization of such an event. Together with the teachers an appropriate topic is chosen for every student. Then the literature is scanned for assessing the state-of -the-art in the chosen topic and discussed, what the proper contribution of the student could be.
