After successful completion of the course, students are able

• to solve sample calculations (number systems, memory hierarchy, networks)
• to analyze small assembly programs
• to understand digital circuits
• to decode commands in a simple Datapath
• understand pipelining examples

• Computer architecture
• Representation of numbers in computers
• Boolean algebra and digital electronics
• Addressing modes, instruction sets and pipelining
• Memory hierarchy design
• Input, output and peripheral devices
• Computer networks
• System software

Used methodes:

• Recorded lectures (via ZOOM-Meeting)
• Exercise sheets (have to be solved at home)
• Discussion of the exercise sheets in exercise groups. Will be done via ZOOM. All ZOOM sessions will be recorded.
• Three tests (TUWEL-Tests in a OpenBook format and supervised over ZOOM-Meetings). The best two tests are counting, and not each test own its own has to be positive.

All ZOOM sessions (lectures and exercises) will be recorded and the recordings will be provided in the TUWEL course.

Workload estimation (ECTS breakdown): 75 hours = 3 ECTS
