After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe selected aspects of law issues in medical treatment in Austria and to discuss specific examples of claims for damages in the area of medical treatment.

Basic principles of the constitutional law, the legislation and administration in the Austrian health system as well as the sanitary police; hospital affaires; principles of selected fields: medical products, pharmaceuticals, vaccination; introduction into the law of contract and tort with emphasis to treatment contracts and tort in the medical environment.

Discussion of selected examples.

Currently, due to the pandemia, exams are planned to be held as oral online exams. If the situation might allow for exams to be held onsite, such exams would be carried out in written form.
