After successful completion of the course, students are able to read and understand scientific papers about programming languages, present the contents in a talk and in a seminar writeup, and compare the work with others.  In addition, they can find additional papers on a topic, ask questions on a topic, and lead the discussion after a presentation.

Das Seminar aus Übersetzerbau wird jedes Semester zu einem anderen Thema aus dem Bereich Übersetzerbau angeboten. Die Themen greifen aktuelle Forschungsfragen auf und sind oft an laufende Forschungsprojekte des Forschungsbereichs Programmiersprachen und Übersetzer angelehnt. Die aktive Teilnahme am Seminar bietet damit einen hervorragenden Einstieg in aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten am Forschungsbereich und ausgezeichnete Möglichkeiten für spätere Praktika und Diplomarbeiten. Das Seminar ist daher besonders geeignet, ein Naheverhältnis zum Forschungsbereich Programmiersprachen und Übersetzer aufzubauen, um sich in diesem Bereich zu vertiefen.

The grade is based on the presentations, the final seminar paper, the reviews you have written (not the reviews others have written about your draft paper), the work as a session chair, and the active participation in the discussions.
