Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to use number and coding systems as well as to explain the basic structure and functioning of computer systems. Succesful participants have a fundamental knowledge of hardware, software and computer networks.

Subject of course

Introduction into the fundamental aspects of computer science:
Basic terminology, Information and Coding Theory, Number Representation, Floating Point Arithmetic, Binary Logic, Hardware, Operating Systems, Networks
