After the course students should be able to think by their own in the logik of business economics. They should be able to recognize the generation and processing of business economic information. Furthermore they should be sensitive to integrate the information flows systematized in an ERP context and they should be open to see expansion possibilities.

1) Lecture: Understanding the concepts of accounting (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, duality principle), managerial accounting (cost distribution, calculation), finance (pricing and bookkeeping of loans), cost planning and cost variance analysis, as well as introduction to the jboss seam framework 2)Exercise/Homework: implementation (by students) of selected concepts - if possible!!! - in the jboss seam framework

In "Praxisorientierte BWL" erfolgt eine informationsbezogene Einführung in die betriebswirtschaftliche Denkweise. Die betriebswirtschaftlichen Konzepte sind notwendig, um die z.B. im Jahresabschluss präsentierten Informationen zu verstehen. Herzstück der betriebswirtschaftlichen Denke ist die Doppik, welche der Finanzbuchhaltung (Rechnungswesen) zugrunde liegt und in der Wirtschaftsinformatik als Resource/Event/Agent- bzw. REA-Ontologie bezeichnet wird. Die REA-Ontologie, welche zur semantischen Fundierung von Datenbanken konzipiert wurde, wird um kostenrechnerische bzw. finanzwirtschaftliche Konzepte ergänzt. Diese Konzepten dienen der Generierung von erfolgs- bzw. zahlungsrelevanten Informationen, welche in der finanzwirtschaftlich basierten Unternehmenssteuerung im Rahmen von Controlling-Prozessen verarbeitet werden.
