• How to choose a conference and a journal
• How you will be evaluated in the future
• Models of funding - Organization, structure, and management of scientific projects

• Career models for Computer Scientists

This course consists of 4 parts:

•  Lectures: which introduce students into the topics;
•  small homework exercises encouraging students to reflect about their (scientific) career (in the long run);
•  student presentations;
•  a conference style peer reviewing process: where student submit a introduction, and participate in a peer-reviewing of these introduction.

  15 h presence in the seminar units
  40 h preparation of 2 presentations
  15 h Writing an introduction and participation in the EasyChair discussions

The assessment is based on:

•  two presentation on topics of the course;
•  submission of a introduction to a scientific article;
•  participation in the Peer-Reviewing process for the submitted introductions;
•  participation in the discussions in class.
