Die VO/UE Network Engineering wird dieses Semester leider nicht abgehalten. Aus administrativen und finanziellen Gründen kommt eine Beauftragung nicht zustande. Es tut uns leid, dass diese Absage derart kurzfristig erfolgt.

Ungeachtet dessen, werden Sie eingeladen, im kommenden Wintersemester 2024/25 dabei zu sein und die VO/UE Network Engineering gemeinsam mit Dr. Siegl zu erleben.

In diesem Sommersemester 2024 wird die VU Computer Networks (184.738) angeboten. Diese findet jeden Donnerstag, in der Zeit von 13:00 bis 15:00 Uhr im EI 1 statt.

After successful completion of the course, students are able to prepare a specific topic from the field of data networks, to recognize the specific problems and to present them in a short presentation.

Subject of course

Selected parts of the topic of network management are to be examined in detail and two short lectures (10 minutes each) to be held. Furthermore, a written elaboration of the topic has to be prepared.

Depending on the topicality, the general subject area is specified. The concrete topic selection is made by the participants themselves.

The scope of the written preparation should amount to about 15 pages in total.

Teaching methods

It is worked together in small groups of 3 persons.

There are two lectures to be given:
- Presentation of the treated problem and approach
- Presentation of the insights and solution
Each presentation is immediately afterwards about content and speech discussed.

Written elaboration of the topic addressed.

2 ECTS = 50 hours, split into 42 hours for work out, 8 hours presentations.

The assessment consists of the following three parts. Each part is equally weighted:

1. Presentation technique of the final presentation
2. Lecture of the final presentation
3. Quality of the written elaboration

Each of the three parts must be positive for itself.
