After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

- plan empirical studies for the evaluation of innovative projects in the research field of Human-Computer Interfaces autonomously
- communicate and present a qualified research approach in form of an exposé.

Subject of course

Design and Planning of a research study in the fields of HCI research
Scientific writing

Effort for the student (ECTS-Breakdown):

  • Kick-Off Meeting + Lectures: 10 h
  • Literature search: 15 h
  • Writing of the exposé: 40 h
  • Peer review and rebuttal: 10 h

Total: 75 hours (3 ECTS)

Teaching methods

Blocked workshops. Incremental creation and elaboration of a project proposal consisting of: problem definition, expected result, hypotheses, methodology, and bibliography. Iterative feedback by the lecturers as well as a peer review. Final presentation.
