Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to timely recognize advanced aspects of IT security and introduce appropriate security measures in order to achieve a sufficient level of IT security during the operation of the respective systems.

Teaching methods

Theoretical basics, as well as lessons learned, are taught in the lectures. In 3 individual/team exercises the content is deepened and broadened.

In the lecture the necessary technical foundations are taught, research in depth is guided on-demand, and real, large case studies are presented. In the exercises, the application of different aspects of the lecture are deepened and extended in 3 single and group tasks in our IT security lab infrastructure.

Examination modalities

During the term, 3 individual/team exercises, primarily in the style of Jeopardy CTF Contests, need to be finished and documented. For the team exercises, additional exercise interviews need to be done. Moreover, there is a written exam.
