The aim of the course is to teach fundamental concepts for the design and implementation of mobile applications in the field of Health Care. The students are taught paradigms for user interaction design and usability engineering in the area of mobile healthcare application as well as topics in the field of medical data transmission using different standards (eg HL7 CDA).After finishing this course, students have the necessary capabilities to plan mobile applications in the health sector, to perform analyzes in the clinical context and to design and implement these applications.
The course is divided into a lecture-part that will be held as a block at the beginning of the semester and an exercise-part. Based on the theoretical foundation, a group exercise in which students apply the knowledge of the lecture and develop a mobile application completes the course.Within this lecture theoretical content on Mobile Computing in Healthcare is taught. Amongst others the following theoretical questions and topics are discussed:
Based on that theoretical foundation, students will develop in groups a smart-phone application in the field of emergency medicine to produce a practical reference to the mediated contents of the lecture.Didactic Approach: The research group provides competent engineering perspectives. For this lecture this means: provide the necessary technical basis, guidance for situational research, understanding of basic principles and implementation technologies, testing and experience in planning, analysis, design and implementation of a dedicated mobile application.
