IT Security in Large IT Infrastructures teaches knowledge relevant for the realization of an sufficient IT security level for large IT infrastructures.
In the lecture different aspects of IT security as well as their strategical significance for large enterprises to nationwide infrastructures like E-Health networks are presented.
Besides specific technological aspects of large IT infrastrcutures also non-technical security critical aspects are deepened. Examples for such aspects are the high number of interacting people with the potential for getting attacked by social engineering, a high criticality and a high damage potential, a big spatial distribution with special challenges to the physical security.
After this lecture students have learned how IT security looks like in large IT infrastructures and which aspects need to be especially considered in such environments in comparison to small IT infrastructures.

Didactic approach: In the lecture the necessary technical foundations are taught, research in depth is guided on demand, and real, large case studies are presented. In the exercises the application of different aspects of the lecture are deepened and extended in 3 single and group tasks in our IT security lab infrastructure.
