After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand in-depth aspects of IT infrastructure planning and design in a medical environment. These include topics such as large IT infrastructures in healthcare, the integration of various systems, communication infrastructure, data management, security aspects, IT service management, IT operations management, rules and regulations and their impact on the IT organization. After graduation students have the ability to consider the topics in the medical environments for the planning, analysis, and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.

The responsible research group communicates engineering and research views. Communication of the needed basics, information for additional research, presentation of real and often large case examples on IT infrastructure (eg organization-wide, national, or international IT infrastructure) in the medical environment, proving and experience in creating concepts, projects, and applications.
