Aim of course

The research area of user-centered interaction concentrates on innovative ways for supporting Human Computer Interaction (HCI) for networked systems as well as advanced methods for user-centric design and quality of experience evaluation of such systems. This course aims at presenting and discussing current developments and trends in this highly interesting field, including situation-aware interaction techniques for multimodal mobile applications (with a specific focus on Mobile Spatial Interaction), advanced user-centric design, prototyping, and quality evaluation methods for networked multimedia services, and socio-economic approaches for network management and stakeholder-oriented innovation. Based on Usability Engineering and Interface and Interaction Design, this course will thus give a broad overview on user-centered interaction research and particularly emphasize the area of mobile interaction, its design and evaluation.
