Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand and apply basic principles of pattern recognition. The course should enable the students to autonomously select and read pattern recognition literature in order to deepen their knowledge of the field.

Subject of course

Basics of Probability theory. Distributions and random variables. Parameter estimation. Bayes' Theorem. Linear estimators. PCA, SVD. Regression.
