Aim of course

The goal of this course is tomake participants familiar with business information systems, especially by introducing enterprise resource planning systems. A deeper dive into process modeling and process management is another focal topic. Besides theory, ERP systems operations and the derivations for the IT management of a company become inherent to the course.

Subject of course

ERP systems, applications and functions, introduction and maintenance vor ERP systems, IT management aspects, application, usage and process design, workflow definition, process modeling and process management, ERP trends including key players, technical basics, system analysis, platform decision guidance, usage planning, system implementation, roll out, integration, training, support and case studies.

Didactical approach: INSO as responsible research group is teaching engineering-focused contents. In a didactical meaning, this results in theoretical basics teaching, research guidance and introcudtion to reality-based and reality-oriented case studies, testing and experience in concepts that are suitable for the course, exercises, project parts and their application.

The course is mandatory for "Bachelor Wirtschaftinformatik" module "Information System Management"
