After successful completion of the course, students are able to
- conduct a scientific literature search for a given topic- document their results in a scientific form in a written report- present and defend their results in an oral presentation- to accomplish time management in a small project
Project topics may be from the following areas: CPS / embedded systems architectures, programming methods for CPS resp. embedded systems, CPS modeling, intelligent control, intelligent robotics, timing analysis, design/design tools for safety-critical real-time systems, fault tolerance, dependable systems, security in embedded systems, communication and network protocols for ES, etc.
In an initial meeting with the advisor, the actual task and a working title, as well as the cornerstones of the final report, are specified; the required prerequisites are also checked on that occasion. Regular meetings during the work are used for presenting and discussing both progress and encountered problems (please report severe problems immediately, though). Towards the end of the work, a detailed structure of the written final report must be negotiated with your advisor. A presentation of the major results in a talk (preferably including a demonstration) concludes the course.
