Aim of course
Ability to solve a practical problem in a specific filed of computer science.
Subject of course
A given practical assignment shall be worked out. Group work is possible. Several examples for assignments can be found on our homepage. Own suggestions are encouraged (as they fit to the main fields of interest in our department). Didactic concept: In a personal meeting with your advisor the task is specified and the title assigned. Furthermore it is checked whether your pre-know-how meets the requirements. During your work you regularly inform your advisor about your progress and encountered problems (in case of severe problems please contact your advisor immediately rather than waiting for the next appointment). Towards the finish of your work you discuss the structure of your written report with your advisor (it is useful to prepare a proposal for a table of contents for this purpose), as well as the oral presentation.
Additional information
A selection of current assignments can be found on our web page, http://www.vmars.tuwien.ac.at For an appointment, please contact the lecturers.
