Optimization of the overall system comprising HW and SW Decision criteria for HW/SW parititioning, trends, case studies from industry virtual prototyping. Didactic concept: Due to the relatively low number of participants and due to the fact that this lecture is in the master curriculum, it is possible to make it very interactive: In addition to the classical lectures there are also phases where concrete problems are discussed in small groups and the results are presented by one speaker of each group. Furthermore gueat speakers are invited from industry or academia, if available, to share their expertise in specific topics.
