Aim of course

The goal of this seminar is to provide master students with additional support for preparing their Master thesis, including drafting their master thesis proposal and preparing the final presentation for the defense. Students get feedback from professors in logica and computation and can learn from the presentations of their colleagues. The seminar also helps students identifying their interests and finding topics for their prospective Master thesis. 

Subject of course

This seminar involves the following tasks:

  1. Presentation and discussion of the Master thesis proposal (10 min + 10 min discussion). Based on the received feedback, students should be able to develop a sound and coherent proposal (Diplomarbeitsanmeldung) of their master thesis.
  2. Presentation of the most important results of the Master thesis (20 min + 10 min discussion). After this presentation, using the received feedback, student should be able to prepare a convincing presentation to be eventually presented within their Master thesis defense.

The seminar will start with a few optional introductory lectures given by the lecturers (foundations of scientific working and how to present a scientific paper).
