Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to evaluate and assess latest developments and the state-of-the-art of technologies for CO2 capture, chemical or biochemical activation of CO2 and the conversion into products. Based on the knowledge about new process and technologies in the context of CO2 refinery concepts students are able to find and select suitable process routes considering circular economy principles.

Subject of course

Selected experts from industry and research will present about current topics in carbon capture & utilization in a moderated environment ("ring lecture") followed by a Q&A session and a critical discussion. The selection of topics will be in the context of the ongoing TU doctoral college "CO2Refinery" (https://www.tuwien.at/co2refinery).

Teaching methods

Invited expert talks from industry and research, follwoed by a moderated Q&A and discussion by the organizer.
