After successful completion of the course, students are able to:
- understand the conceptional and computational aspects of the systematic methods in process design.
- apply heuristics together with graphical and analytical methods to develop optimal designs.
- systematically deal with process systems of diverse scale and complexity (unit operations, production lines and plants, industrial clusters etc.).
The contents are taught through lectures, calculation examples and processing of various tasks and questions.
Written through exercises at home during the course, one exam in the middle and one at the end of the course, and one chance for repetition after the course.
