Basics of membrane separation processes; mass transfer models; general apsects of membrane, module and process design; industrially important separations (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration, gas permeation, electrodialysis and others); process design approaches; case studies.
Course as a distance learning event - Introduction about membrane separation processes, overview on methods for the calculation of membrane mass transfer, calculation and discussion of specific exercises
Preparation and presentation of a selected topic in the field of membrane separation processes; discussion; slide set must be provided in Powerpoint or PDF format. Alternatively, oral exam.
