Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to perform separation task, to characterize separation processes and to determine characteristic parameters for process development, process/apparatus dimensioning or scale-up.

Subject of course

Performing separation tasks under guidance of supervisors to enhance the knowledge on specific separation processes and techniques. Elaboration experimental procedure for a specific separation task. Practical implementation of the separation task on lab scale-equipment. Analysis and interpretation of results.

Teaching methods

Experimental elaboration and implementation of a separation tasks in the area of chemical process engineering, environmental technology and biotechnology using lab-scale equipment.
