Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to assess the capabilites of the presented process analytical technology tools and select the appropriate tool according to the bioprocess.

Students will be able to understand and interpret basic multivariate data analysis techniques and their application on bioprocess data.

Students will be familiar with bioprocess modelling principles and techniques.

Subject of course

Data generation during integrated bioprocesses.

PAT sensors used for each unit operation.

Data collection, alignment and analysis including univariate and multivariate data.

How data is used for process-related decisions.

Bioprocess modelling principles, techniques including statistical, mechanistic and hybrid models.

Teaching methods

Oral lecture, supported by presentation slides of the theory and real-world application examples of the discussed techniques and methods.

This course is focusing on Design of Experiments. The first part is identical and held together with 166.606 Modeling, Simulation and Control of Bioprocesses.
