Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently develop and implement concepts in the field of DNA-based data storage. This applies to in vivo, in vitro and in silcio technologies.

Subject of course

As part of the EU project MI-DNA DISC, new DNA-based technologies for the in vivo synthesis and storage of DNA are being developed. Essential elements in the project are technologies based on ligation, bacteriophages and CRISPR-Cas systems. In addition, which prokaryotes are best suited for such in vivo systems will be evaluated and discussed.
