Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyze the use of the building blocks for tissue regeneration and tissue engineering, select and formulate a basic application example from the broad area of TERM (tissue engineering and regenerative medicine). This is based on the teaching basics about tissue cells, biomaterials, control factors and mechanical cues also using multimodal imaging methods.

In the end, an independently developed topic from the field of tissue regeneration is presented to the other course participants as a short lecture (PowerPoint) and positive and negative aspects of the project are discussed, whereby both the lecture and discussion questions are evaluated.

This is probably a special challenge for some of the participants since at least rudimentary biology knowledge must be applied. To get to know the relevant basics as well as potential areas of application, experts from the individual areas are available and international/interdisciplinary top researchers will illustrate the great potential/fascination of the area. To make this possible, the attendance in the courses (held in trauma hospital and research laboratory) is recorded and the practical application is demonstrated on site.
