Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to make a comparison of measures for the primary and secondary reduction of air pollutant emissions, to propose the necessary apparatuses and to incorporate these process-specifically into the exhaust gas duct.

Subject of course

Fundamentals of NOx-removal (SCR, SNCR), desulphurisation, removal of dioxins, catalytic and thermal treatment of industrial waste gases.

Teaching methods

Various emission-related high-temperature processes are discussed in order to develop measures to reduce emissions of air pollutants.
