Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to know the main characteristics of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and energy carriers in regards of their utilization and energy storage. The energy carriers will be experimentally tested and analyzed.

Subject of course

Basic characterization and analysis of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and energy carriers. Evaluation of small combustion plants according to determination of energy efficiency and the behavior of emissions by means of combustion experiments and the application of modern analytical facilities. Experiments to determine calorific value and energy storage potentials.
