After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the discussed topics in an independent and sustainable manner, in order to solve fundamental and technological problems in "physical chemistry" research.
- Thermodynamic equilibrium in simple systems (1 component, 1 phase), reversible/irreversible processes, cyclic processes, ideal/non-ideal systems, fundamental laws of thermodynamics and related state functions.
- Thermodynamics of systems with more than one component and more than one phase: thermodynamic equations of state, phase diagrams, ideal/real liquid and solid mixtures, miscibility gaps
- Chemical thermodynamics: chemical equilibrium, reaction enthalpy, reaction entropy, free reaction enthalpy
Written exam with a duration of 120 minutes consisting of 6 questions (5 questions covering the topics and calculations courses of the lecture, 1 question on contents from the seminar).
A total of 50 points are awarded for the examination; 50-44 points correspond to "Very Good", 43-38 points to "Good", 37-32 points to "Satisfactory", 31-26 points to "Satisfactory" and less than 26 points to "Unsatisfactory", which means that the examination must be repeated.
Special features: This examination is also the proof of performance for 165.153 SE Physical Chemistry I and 165.106 UE Physical Chemistry I .
