Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to generate an abstract for a presentation, to plan and design the presentation, and finally to perform the presentation. Moreover, discussing presentations of others will be trained.

 

Subject of course

Design and delivery of scientific presentations is trained by the example of the of the diploma thesis. A presentation of 20 minutes is given. Rethoric aspects, layout of slides, concept of the presentation are analyzed in group discussion. Presentations are recorded on video and handed to the student.

Examination modalities

 

  • participation in introductionary lecture E3, at least once (do not miss!)
  • participation at 7 presentation dates minimum
  • delivery of the abstract: min.1000/max.1500 characters incl. spaces (text body, without title), latest 2 days before presentation, via TUWEL
  • performing the presentation (min. 15/max. 20 minutes)
  • participation in group discussions and minimum 3 presentations of the group´s conclusions ("Feedback")

The seminar may be completed across consecutive semesters, registration is required each semester.

The certificate will be issued only upon request (email to lecturer)
