Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

Understand the fundamental principles of the most important technques for analysis of solids, their instrumentation , as well as their field of application with advantages and limitations. The students will be able to judge which techique is suited for a certain problem.

Subject of course

Analytical techniques for quantitative bulk analysis. Methods for the determination of elemental distributions in solid materials. Sample preparation methods for chemical bulk analysis. Case studies of applications of modern analytical methods in the practice. Typical instruments and function of an analytical lab the industry.
