Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to assess chemical-technical processes on industrial scale concerning their chemical-technical, economical, legal, ethical and product-specific  boundary conditions and also to consider quality assurance (regarding aspects such as quality management, product realization and quality assurance tools) staff and environmental protection, toxicological and gender aspects.

Subject of course

Criteria and conditions for industrial production such as e.g. upscaling, starting material supply and sources, material cycles, sustainability, recycling, air/water purification, REACh, quality aspects, workplace safety, acute and chronic toxicity, industrial and environmental toxicity

Teaching methods

Presentation of the contents by ppt, the files being available to the students in TISS. Free questioning by the students as well as questions to the auditorium by the lecturers.

Examination modalities

Oral examination in small groups; questions asked concern the content of the lectures. Duration is about 15-20 min per candidate. The mark is based upon how well the student can explain the presented contents and thus answer the question.

Time slots are announced in TISS. Attention: Because of the Covid-19 guidelines the oral examinations are currently being held online, through gotomeeting, for groups of 2-3 students each. Requests for examination dates please send to Prof. Danninger
