Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the chemical and physical concepts determining several properties of solids how those determine the applicability of materials.

Subject of course

Focuses on compounds with technologically relevant magnetic, electrical, ferritic,  optical and ionic (transport) properties:

* Electronic and ionic transport properties

* Polarization (electric, magnetic) and dielectrics, pyro-, piezo-, ferroelectrics

* Optical Properties

* Catalytic Properties

* Technically relevant and selected construction materials and technical materials

*Composites and (partial-) amorphous materials
