Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the basics of electrochemical systems (thermodynamics and kinetics) and to know and evaluate different systems for electrochemical energy conversion, i.e. different types of batteries, fuel cells and electrolysis cells.

  • Systems for electrochemical energy conversion and storage (batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis cells)
  • Properties of such systems and understanding of these properties based on electrochemical thermodynamics and kinetics
